I was so sad to hear about the passing of Pauline Phillips, the original “Dear Abby” last week.  I can remember reading her column from the time I was old enough to read a newspaper.  I’m not ashamed to admit that, even today, her column is one of the first things I read on Sunday mornings.

Yesterday, her daughter, Jeanne Phillips, wrote a moving tribute (click here to read) to her incredibly intelligent mother whose intellect was stolen by that horrible disease, Alzheimer’s disease.  It does not discriminate who it decides to affect, and it has probably touched every one of us in one form or another.
