National Family Caregiver Month is observed every November and has been nationally recognized since President Clinton signed the first presidential proclamation in 1997.  The focus is on the many challenges that family caregivers face and it is an opportunity to offer thanks, support and education to the millions of family caregivers across the country.
I talk to clients every day about the issues they face taking care of their spouses, their parents, their grandparents, and it is clear to me that first and foremost in every caregiver’s role is to be an advocate for their loved one and to ensure they receive the care that they need.
